We're All For Carbohydrate Counting...
... but let's face it, too much carbohydrate counting is counter productive ...
Hate to break it to you, but it's true. As positive of a concept as carbohydrate counting might be, you can't overdo it and expect that results are magically going to manifest themselves. Sure, it helps. Monitoring what kind of carbs you consume and at what dosage is a great idea and you are to be commended for doing so. But come on now. You know the guy who always talks non-stop about how he's been carbohydrate counting and how he never eats bread and all of that jazz? Well, chances are, he's not doing himself any favors. He's merely accomplishing one of many tasks necessary to become a healthy individual.
What we are getting at here is that carbohydrate counting will only take you so far. Minimizing bad (or "empty") carbs is a smart call on your part, but you can't expect that alone to help you achieve the results you are looking for.
If you are serious about your health, you need to make sure that you get plenty of carbs -- just the good kind. Your body works hard to break down carbs as energy to burn. Depriving of it altogether will make you groggy and lethargic. No one wants that. It is not as good for you as you think to start carbohydrate counting incessantly. You need carbs because they allow you to get good exercise, which is as important to you as anything. When you combine moderate portions of everything you need, rather than quick fix fads, you set yourself up for a very high success probability. Make it happen. See to it that it works out.
We know you can do it, you carbohydrate counting fiend. Just keep your head on straight, will you?
