	<title>Low Carb Snacks</title>
<description>When you're on a low carb diet, if it's going well, you probably won't want snacks most of the time. But you're human, and every once in a while, the urge to have a snack is going to kick in. So how do you do it without ruining your diet?

What People Eat for Low Carb Snacks
As you know by now, low carb dieting means eating a lot of high protein foods like meat, cheese and eggs. This can make mealtime great, but what do you do for snacks? You're starting off at the right place, because we have some ideas for low carb snacks that will fit well into your low carb diet.

Deli turkey - Go to your deli and get some turkey to snack on. If you want to be really creative, lay out a slice of turkey, top it with a slice of Swiss cheese, then roll it up. Both turkey and cheese are high in protein and low in carbs, so these are acceptable low carb snacks.
Grilled chicken breast strips - These come precooked, and some brands are even seasoned. They were made for use on salads or in wrap sandwiches, but the seasoned ones are tasty low carb snacks.
String cheese - The perfect portion for a snack that's high in protein, low in carbs. And since string cheese comes in different varieties, you're not likely to get bored with it soon.
Nuts - Nuts are excellent low carb snacks, and like cheese, they come in many varieties. However, almonds are a great choice.
Low carb bars and shakes - You have to be careful with these because some of them are meant to be meal replacements. Others, however, are intended to be low carb snacks. Some of these are better than others, and the only way you'll know which ones you like for sure is trial and error. (At least with the other snacks on our list, you know what you're getting up front.)

No matter what you choose to snack on, be aware of the calorie count. After all, if you're taking in 5,000 calories a day, you're not likely to lose weight on any diet, even a low carb diet!
