Low Carb Shakes

Every once in a while, we're all running late and don't have time for a proper breakfast or lunch. While it's better to try to make time for a meal, low carb shakes can be helpful in this situation when you're on a low carb diet.

What to Expect From Low Carb Shakes
When you first hear the word "shake" in reference to food, chances are you think of some thick, frothy, cold flavorful "drink." But most low carb shakes don't fit that description. In fact, you can drink most ready-to-drink low carb shakes at room temperature (even though they're better cold). And the texture is somewhat watery--most aren't even as thick as flavored milk. Of course, this is because they aren't made from milk.

There are other ways to have low carb shakes though. If you buy a protein powder(like Carb Solutions) and use a low carb milk, you can make some pretty thick and tasty low carb shakes on your own. But if you have time to do that, you have time to make something like an omelette (using egg beaters) or something similar to that.

Taste Tests
The reviews are in! Our product testers thought these low carb shakes were good:

Prolab Lean Mass Matrix
Schokinag No Sugar Added European Drinking Chocolate
Atkins Nutritionals Ready-To-Drink Shakes
NutriMelt Taste-It-To-Believe-It Meal Replacement Shakes

Of course, everyone's taste buds are different, so you might want to try a taste test of your own. Obviously, you'll want to get opinions from other low carb dieters, people at your supplement store and maybe people at your gym, but ultimately, you'll be the only one who knows what you like best.
