Low Carb Bars

When you're on the go, low carb bars can be a great snack, or in some cases, even a meal replacement. You can keep them handy in your desk, gym bag, purse or diaper bag. Please note that if you are someone who is sensitive to sugar alcohols and glycerol, you might want to steer clear of these bars. Some people who eat a low carb bar daily do not experience any problems at all. If you happen to be one such person, go ahead and indulge yourself. Just be careful.

The Good and Bad of Low Carb Bars
If you've ever tried any low carb bars and you got a couple that didn't taste good, it's understandable that you might be skeptical of trying them again. But there are some low carb bars out there that really do taste good. Our testers have reviewed some to see which they thought tasted best, and we're going to share that information with you.

Our testers are Andy, Jessi and Craig. Andy is 25-year-old writer and enjoys biking, kayaking and any other kinds of adventures. He is very athletic and uses protein bars as fuel before an activity or replenishment afterwards. Jessi is a 27-year-old web designer who is on a low carb diet and uses low carb bars for meal replacement when she doesn't have time to make a low carb meal. Craig is a 36-year-old political activist and he's in a band. He doesn't eat low carb bars.

As you've probably seen, there are a lot of low carb bars out there to choose from. You can ask people at your gym or at GNC which ones they like best. Or you can go by the opinions of our testers. Here's a list of the ones they tried:

Atkins Advantage Bars - Our testers all tried the S'Mores flavor and agreed that this bar didn't taste like a s'more, but it wasn't half bad, either--especially when they were compared with other brands of bars they tried prior to this review. Atkins Advantage comes in flavors such as Almond Brownie, Chocolate Coconut, Chocolate Mocha Crunch, Chocolate Decadence, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Cookies 'n Creme and S'mores
Extend Bars - Our testers tried the Peanut Delight version and loved them, hands down! Other flavors include Apple Cinnamon and Chocolate Delight.
Keto bars -Again, a winner with our testers, especially Blueberry Cheesecake and Caramel Nut Crunch. Other flavors (that they didn't test) are Chocolate Fudge, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, Cookies N Creme, Oatmeal Raisin Crunch, Chocolate, Marshmallow & Graham, Strawberry Shortcake Crunch
PowerBar Pria CarbSelect bars - Our tasters tried these in the Caramel Nut Brownie and the Chocolate Mocha Crisp flavors. All agreed that they were not good. All gave them two thumbs way down.
